Protein Spots

Research finds that protein powder could cause acne, but only a selected type. Your protein powder of choice could be causing you to breakout. A dermatologist told INSIDER that prime consumption of whey protein has been related to acne. A high glycemic index and low protein diet can lead to hyperinsulinemia and a cascade of endocrine triggers like raised insulin-like growth factor-1(IGF-1) and androgens, resulting in acne.In our study as well, half of the acne patients belonged to the severe protein deficiency (<30 g/day) group High-protein diets may tout weight loss, but this type of weight loss may only be short-term. Excess protein consumed is usually stored as fat, while the surplus of amino acids is excreted. This can lead to weight gain over time, especially if you consume too many calories while trying to increase your protein intake.
