Cardiology Open Access Journals

Cardiology is a medical discipline dealing with cardiac diseases and a branch of internal medicine. It discusses the diagnosis and treatment of conditions such as congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, electrophysiology, heart failure and heart valve disease. The cardiology area subspecialties include cardiac electrophysiology, echocardiography, cardiology intervention and nuclear cardiology. The basic functioning of the cardiovascular system involves how the blood oxygen and nutrients are absorbed by the heart, which is called coronary circulation. The circulation system consists of coronary arteries and coronary veins. Broader definitions of cardiac conditions include cardiac arrest; myocardial or heart muscle conditions, including cardiomyopathy varieties; pericardial disorders or heart outer lining disorders, including forms of pericarditis; cardiac valve disorders, including aortic valve, mitral valve, pulmonary valve and tricuspid valve.
