Substrate Specificity Quality Articles

The substrate explicitness of PHA depolymerase has been explored by utilizing different aliphatic homopolyesters.193,200 PHA depolymerases hydrolyzed movies of P(3HB), poly(3HP), poly(4HB), poly(ethylene succinate), and poly(ethylene adipate), yet movies of poly(3HV), poly(3-hydroxyoctanoate), PLA, poly(δ-valerolactone), poly(ε-caprolactone), poly(tetramethylene succinate), and poly(tetramethylene adipate) were not hydrolyzed.193 The enzymatically degradable homopolyesters have some regular concoction structures: the quantity of carbon and oxygen molecules between two carbonyl gatherings of the spine is 3 or 4, while the side chain is methyl carbon or hydrogen. What's more, the chemosynthetic P(3HB) test with a high convergence of (S)- 3HB stereoisomer (more than 92 mol.%) was scarcely hydrolyzed by the PHA depolymerases, demonstrating that the PHA depolymerase has enantiomer selectivity for PHA molecules.225,226 Thus, PHA depolymerases show moderately tight substrate specificities for PHA hydrolysis.
