Scholarly Journals In Germ Cell

Germ cells are the sole sort of cell which will transmit all genomic information to subsequent generation. Such cells have unique characteristics, being capable not only of germline but also of serving as stem cells. In Caenorhabditis elegans and Drosophila, reproductive cell lineages are predetermined. In mammals, by comparison, primordial germ cells, which are precursors to germ cells, are caused by extra-embryonic signaling from multipotentepiblasts. The means by which germ cells are defined in avian species, however, remain to be elucidated. Manipulation of germ cells is effective in studies on germline development and in production of valuable cell lines. A reproductive cell is any biological cell that provides rise to the gametes of an organism that reproduces sexually. In many animals, the germ cells originate within the primitive streak and migrate via the gut of an embryo to the developing gonads.
