Neonatal Occipital Alopecia Research Articles

Neonatal occipital alopecia (NOA) is seen in the occiput of babies at 2~3 months after birth1-3. For quite a while, it has been theorized that the scalp grating brought about by the neonate's resting position may be a significant etiology of NOA. It is as of late clear, in any case, that NOA is a physiologic alopecia, advancing from the incubation time frame, instead of an obtained alopecia due to the physical friction1. In spite of the fact that NOA is moderately normal, there have been not many epidemiological reports of this condition, since it once in a while shows serious manifestations that need treatment, and it improves unexpectedly. In this way, numerous doctors don't focus on this illness.
