Chinese Medicine Innovations

With increasing popularity of Chinese medicine in the West, there have been an increasing number of books published in this field. Some of them have addressed the philosophical aspect of Chinese medicine, et al. targeting the diagnosis and coverings . All of them mentioned ancient texts like the Yellow Emperor's Inner Cannon and used terminology from them. The uses of those ancient concepts and terminology have led many to think about Chinese medicine as primitive, ritualistic, and unchanging. Such negative connotations have deterred many from studying Chinese medicine. Even if they did they felt that they had to forego its theories and use the Western scientific paradigm to elucidate their treatment. Elisabeth Hsu and the other authors in this book aimed to challenge this stereotype of Chinese medicine.
