Proteomic Methods

Proteomic analysis (proteomics) refers to the systematic identification and quantification of the complete complement of proteins (the proteome) of a biological system & cell, tissue, organ, biological fluid, or organism&  at a specific point in time Three methods for separation of complex protein or peptide samples are preferred in proteomics: denaturing polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE) or sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE), two-dimensional gel electrophoresis, and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) Applications of proteomics like chemical proteomics, protein expression profiling, targeted protein quantitation, analysis of protein-protein interactions and post-translational modification are widely employed by various sections of the industry.
