Leydig cell tumour, also known as Leydig cell tumor (testicular) interstitial cell tumor, is a member of the ovarian and testicular sex cord-stromal
tumor group. It originates from
cells in Leydig. While the
tumor can occur at any age, it most frequently occurs in young adults. A Sertoli-Leydig cell
tumor is a variation of a Leydig cell
tumor with Sertoli cell tumour. Most Leydig cell tumors are found in males, usually at age 5–10 or in middle adulthood (30–60 years). Children usually undergo precocious puberty. The most common presenting feature in men is testicular swelling. Many signs are depending on age and tumour size. The
tumor is normally asymptomatic when it is secreting androgens, but can induce precocious puberty in prepubertal boys. It may induce feminisation in young boys if the
tumor secretes oestrogens. It causes many issues in adults including gynaecomastia, erectile dysfunction, depression, feminine hair distribution, gonadogenital atrophy and libido loss. Scholarly
journals function as forums for introducing and presenting the latest research to be scrutinised, and thus criticizing existing research. Material usually takes the form of papers that present original research, summary posts, and reviews of the books. The term
scholarly journal applies to all fields of scholarly publications
