Gas Liquid Chromatography Open Access Journals

Gas-liquid chromatography and liquid chromatography are important analytical instruments for qualitatively and quantitatively analyzing complex mixtures. These methodologies are easily adapted to the monitoring of therapeutic drugs; they not only provide accurate quantification of specific drugs in clinical specimens, but also allow the detection, identification and quantification of drugs and drug metabolites not previously known to be present in a particular specimen. Gas-liquid chromatography (GLC) is a method commonly used to analyze lipids. While transesterification is commonly used for the derivation of marine fatty acids, saponification and extraction may be used, followed by the derivatisation of fatty acid methyl esters ( FAMEs). Prediction of computer identity is followed by separation of lipid classes and purification of FAMEs prior to GC, mass spectroscopy and Fourier transforming infrared spectroscopy, which allows the analysis of individual GLC-separated fatty acid derivatives.
