Synthesis and reactions of some new substituted thiazolidin-4-ones derivativeswith antioxidant properties

Several hetero substituted 2-(4-fluorophenyl) thiazolidin-4-one derivatives have been synthesized. A new series of substituted thiazolodinone derivatives were screened for their in vitro antioxidant activity. Compounds (1-17) exhibited the most active oxygen free-radical scavenger activity with percentage inhibitions of respectively. The detailed synthesis and antioxidant activity data are reported. Structures of the new compounds have been established by elemental analyses and spectral data.
