Preparation, characterization and antimicrobial studies of novel imidazole combined molecule

The condensation reaction of 4-benzylidene-2-m-tolyloxazol-5(4H)-one (2) with 2-amino substituted benzothiazole 3(A-F) was yielded a series of 4-benzylidene-1-(substitued-2-benzothiazolyl)-2-(4-methoxyphenyl)- 1H-imidazol-5(4H)-one 4(A-F). The 4-benzylidene-2-m-tolyloxazol- 5(4H)-one (2) has been prepared from cyclo condensation reaction of hippuric acid (1) and m-methyl benzaldehyde. The novel prepared compounds were characterized by IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and Mass spectral data. All the prepared compounds were screened for their antibacterial and antifungal activities.
