Abstract

Novel synthesis of 2-aryl pyridazinone via condensation of 3-oxo-3-substituted-2-arylhydrazonals with active methylenenitriles

The reaction of 3-oxo-3-phenyl-2-arylhydrazonal with functionally substituted and heteroaromatics substituted acetonitrile by using ecofriendly solvent (ethanol) and less amount of catalyst (piperidine) could established to yield arylpyridazine imine derivatives, but these compounds are readily hydrolyzed under reaction conditions to yield arylpyridazinone as final products, which was confirmed by spectral analysis;MS, FTIR, 1HNMR and 13CNMR.
