Abstract

Kendall coefficient of concordance analysis and improvement strategy of the scoring rule in Olympic gymnastics

By studying the scoring criterion of gymnastics team event in Olympic, this paper discusses the issues regarding of the team competition, it is obtained that the scoring lacks fairness in some cases, the existing scoring rules do not fully comply four criteria. In order to improve the fairness of the scoring rules, so that it canmeet the four criteria, it proposes a rule that rates based on the integral function. There are four criteria for fairness, carry through study by combining with the rating instances of Olympics. By the fitting function it refines the score of different score sections, it conducts the score processing depending on the difficulty degree, corresponding to the different scores of the game. This can avoid the unfairness of the teamÂÂ’s score sums because of the score of different difficulty levels, leading and unfair. The fairness of the improved scoring rules is relatively higher than that of the original rules, which ismore in line with the four basic fairness criteria
