Author(s): K.Jyothi, K.VijayaLakshmi, M.Surekha Rani, G.Narasimha

In this study a bacterial strain was isolated from rhzhosphere soil and screened for phosphate solubilization property. The morphological, biochemical characteristics of bacterial strain was identified as Psedomonas spp. The bacterial isolate showedmaximumsimilarity (0.632) with Pseudomonas putida biotypeA.Acomparative study was carried out to select bettermediumfor phosphate solubilizationwith bacterial isolate in two media PikovskayÂ’s and National Botanical Research Institutes Phosphate growth Medium. Maximum phosphate solubilization 204 µg/ mL, 170 µg/ mL were at 280 in 16th day of incubation in twomedia respectively.
