The present study was undertaken to investigate the anthelmintic potential of aqueous extract of Embelia ribes (locally calledVidanga) using earthwormmodel. Different concentrations of standard drug (piperazine citrate) and aqueous extract of E.ribes fruits were employed and the average time required for paralysis and death was noted. 3% and 5% concentration of extracts were found to possess more activity than the same concentration of standard drug. The results justify the traditional use of the plant against worms.
