A rapid and efficient synthesis of a number of functionalized 3- spiropyrrolizidine oxindoles from[3+2] cycloaddition of azomethine ylide and 3-spirotetrahydroquinoline oxindoles from[4+2] imino Diels-Alder reaction; catalyzed byAntimony(III)chloride in excellent yields are reported.
