An efficient novel procedure for the synthesis of aryl-14H-dibenzo [a,j]xanthenes through one-pot condensation of Ã¯ÂÂ¢-naphthol with aryl aldehydes in the presence of Zirconyl chloride as catalyst under solvent free conditions is described.
