A new clean protocol for protection of aryl and aliphatic amines with tbutoxycarbonyl (t-BOC) and benzyloxycarbonyl (Cbz) was developed using catalytic amount of (bromodimethyl) sulfonium bromide. The method is solvent free, mild and rapid protection of amines has been achieved in excellent yields.
