Author(s): T.Surendiran, S.Balasubramanian, D.Sivaraj

N-acylation of 1,2,3,4-tetrahydrocarbazole was carried out by grinding Substituted 1,2,3,4-Tetrahydrocarbazoles(1-3) in presence of anhydrous potassium carbonate with a mortar and pestle. The mixture was swirled with acylating agents and stirred with DMF at 0oC -5oC results faster reactivity and improved the yield of products (4a-i).
