A rapid three component one pot synthesis of 1,4-dihydro (2�, 5�-disubstituted-1H-indole-3�-yl)-2, 6-dimethyl-3, 5-disubstituted dicarboxylate-1Nsubstituted pyridine under conventional and microwave irradiation

A rapid and efficient one pot synthesis of novel 1, 4-Dihydro (2’, 5’- disubstituted-1H-indole-3’-yl)-2,6-dimethyl-3,5-disubstituted dicarboxylate-1N-substituted Pyridine. Reaction between 2, 5-disubstituted indole carboxaldehydes, ethyl acetoacetate and ammonia or methyl amine in the presence of a few drops of con. HCl in catalytic amount of (1 ml) DMF for 4 minutes under microwave irradiation and conventional method to afford the titled compound in good yield. It is an ideal efficient and environmental benign reaction. The structures of the products thus obtained were confirmed by their m.p., IR, 1HNMR and Mass spectral data.
