A new method of deprotection for the hydroxide radicals: Boron trifluoride etherate/sodium iodide

Ethers could transform into corresponding alcohols with boron trifluoride etherate and sodium iodide in acetonitrile after hydrolysis. This reaction can proceed at roomtemperature, and the yield is excellent.
