A facile one-pot synthesis of 14-aryl-14H-dibenzo [a,j] xanthenes catalyzed by glyoxylic acid
Author(s): Kiran F.ShelkeA simple and highly efficient method for the synthesis of 14-aryl-14Hdibenzo[ a,j] xanthenes derivatives by condensation of substituted benzaldehyde and â-naphthol in presence of catalytic amount of glyoxylic acid (CHOCOOH). The remarkable advantages offered by this method are simple methodology, shorter reactions time and high yields.
