Ocean-surface Review Articles

  Ocean surface topography or sea surface topography, also called ocean dynamic topography, are highs and lows on the ocean surface, almost like the hills and valleys of Earth's land surface depicted on a topographic map. These variations are expressed in terms of average sea surface height (SSH) relative to the Earth's geoid. the most purpose of measuring ocean surface topography is to know the large-scale ocean circulation. Orbiting spacecrafts make highly accurate measurements of the peak of the ocean surface - commonly called 'sea level' - to collect long-term information about the world's ocean and its currents. These measurements provide information about the topography of the ocean’s surface, which is employed to review weather, climate, and other dynamic ocean phenomena. Ocean surface topography data even have many other applications, like in fisheries management, navigation and offshore operations. Ocean and land topography are defined precisely the same way. Both give the peak of the ocean or land above the geoid. The geoid is that the shape the ocean surface would have if all the currents and tides stopped. A review is a piece of writing that summarizes the present state of understanding on a subject ,A review surveys and summarizes previously published studies, instead of reporting new facts or analysis. Review articles are sometimes also called survey articles or, in news publishing, overview articles. Academic publications that concentrate on review articles are referred to as review journals.
