Ionic fluids 1-methoxyethyl-3-methylimidazolium methanesulfonate {[MeOEtMIM]+[CH3SO3]ˉ} and 1-methoxyethyl-3-methylimidazolium trifluoroacetate {[MeOEtMIM]+[CF3COO]ˉ} have been utilized as solvents and impetuses for the arrangement of altered thionucleobases and thionucleosides.
