Abstract

Application of experimental design approach for investigating the short-term effect of operative parameters on performance of SBR

Author(s): Amin Hedayati Moghaddam, Javad Sargolzaei

In this study, the short-time effects of operative parameters including influent COD,COD/Nratio,COD/P ratio, aeration time, settling time, and temperature on performance of a sequencing batch reactor (SBR) were investigated, which was applied for starchywastewater treatment. For COD removal (%), R2 is 0.8250, implying that 82.50% of response variability is achieved by a regressionmodel.According to the regressionmodel that obtained for COD removal (%), themaximumCODremoval (%)was 78.33%thatwas obtained at the CODof 400mgL-1,COD/Nratio of 5,COD/P ratio of 100, settling time of 90min, and temperature of 22 °C.
