Enuresis Scholarly Peer-review Journal

Enuresis is more commonly known as bed-wetting. Nocturnal enuresis or bed-wetting at night is the most common type of elimination disorder. Medical conditions that can trigger secondary enuresis include diabetes, urinary tract abnormalities (problems with the structure of a person's urinary tract), constipation, and urinary tract infections. Some experts believe that stress can be linked to enuresis. Desmopressin acetate is the preferred medication for treating children with enuresis. A Cochrane review of 47 randomized trials concluded that desmopressin therapy reduces bedwetting; children treated with desmopressin had an average of 1.3 fewer wet nights per week.
