Behavioural Ecology Research Articles

Behavioral ecology is the study of the evolutionary basis for animal behaviour due to ecological pressures. If an organism has a trait that provides a selective advantage in its environment, then natural selection favours it. Adaptive significance refers to the expression of a trait that affects fitness, measured by an individual's reproductive success. Adaptive traits are those that produce more copies of the individual's genes in future generations. A research article is a main source that is, research article reports the methods/process and results of an original study done by the authors. A complete introduction will often contain a review of the existing literature on the topic studied, and explain the rationale of the author's study.
