Synthesis, characterization and antimicrobial activity of new homo-or hetrotrinuclearCu(II) andMn(II) biazodianil complexes

A Series of homo or hetro di and trimetalic complexes has been prepared containing both Cu(II) and Mn(II) ions with bisazodianil ligands based on 2 carboxy, 3carbonyl,4. 6dihydroxy azo benzene (H3 L1) or 2 hydroxy, 3carbonyl ,4,6dihydroxy azo benzene(H3 L3). The complexes prepared were characterized by elemental anlysis TGA, DTA, IR,UV/Vis and ESRspectra aswell asmagneticmoment and atomic absorption determinations.Antimicrobial activity of the ligands and their complexes have been examined against the bacterial strains Bacillus subtilis, E.coli, Staphylloccus aerues, Pesudomonas auregonosa and Salmonella spp. The results show that the complexes are potent antimicrobial than the parent ligand .These complexes have been found to exhibit moderate to strong antimicrobial activity against the tested microbes.
