The title complex Li[(O-4,6-di-tBu-C6H2)2(CH2)]2Y[MeIm]2(THF)2 has been synthesized by the reaction of LiY[N (iPr)2]4 with H2LCl (L = O-4,6-di-tBu- C6H2-2-CH2-[C{N(CHCH)NMe}]) and LiBu in a 1:3:2molar ratio at the room temperature in THF, and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. It crystallizes in monoclinic, space group C2/c with a = 2.7424(4), b = 2.18819(18), c=1.7540(2)nm,â=129.259(2)o,V=8149.9(17)Å3,Mr=1393.73, Z = 4, Dc = 1.136 Mg/m3, µ (MoKá) = 0.77 mm-1 and F (000) = 3016. The structure was refined to R = 0.077 and wR = 0.1820 for 7393 observed reflections with I > 2ó (I). The Y ion is coordinated to four phenoxo groups and N atoms of N-Methylimidazole from the cleavage of NHC to form a distorted octahedral geometry. Both of the temperature and the substitution group effect on the reaction lead to the cleavage of NHC ligand to form the title complex
