Each cereal product is listed after the cereal from which it is derived.. A cereal is a grass a member of monocot family poaceae. Which is cultivated for the edible components of its grain, which comprises of the endosperm, germ and bran. Cereal grains are grown in greater quantities and provide more food energy worldwide than any other type of crop, hence they are known as staple crops.
