Biofield Therapies Top Journals

Biofield therapies are intended to affect energy fields that purportedly surround and penetrate the human body. The existence of such fields has not been scientifically proven. Approximately forms of energy therapy operate biofields by applying weight and/or manipulating the body by placing the hands in, or through, these arenas. Examples include Qigong, Reiki, and Therapeutic touch. Biofield treatments are noninvasive therapies in which the practitioner openly works with a client's biofield (interacting fields of energy and information that surround living systems) to stimulate healing responses in patients. Biofield therapies are defined as approaches which work directly with the subtle energy field that surround the body. The subtle energy system is made up of three components: meridians, chakras, and the biofield or aura. Meridians are lines of energy that run throughout the body and they are the part of the energy system that acupuncture and Emotional Freedom Techniques work with. Chakras are spinning wheels of energy located along the center of the body from the bottom to the top.
