Robotics And Mechatronics

Robotics & Mechatronics focuses on robotics and deals with modelling and simulation of physical systems, intelligent control, robotic actuators and embedded control systems. The specialisation in Robotics and Mechatronics deals with the appliance of recent systems and control methods in practical situations. Mechatronics involves a synergistic combination of engineering , electronics and measurement and control within the design of products and processes. It focuses on Mechatronic Design, which may be defined as follows: the integrated and optimal design of a system and its embedded system . By means of an integrated design of the mechanical parts and therefore the measurement and system , realised in electronic circuits or as an embedded computer virus , mechanical constructions can achieve superior performance and become cheaper and more flexible. Well-known examples of some years ago are the audio CD player and its successors the CD-ROM and DVD. Nowadays, automotive applications, (mobile and flying) robots, advanced production machines, systems for telemanipulation, micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) are samples of mechatronic systems.
