Osteomyelitis Impact Factor

Osteomyelitis (OM) is a bone infection. Symptoms may include discomfort with overlying redness, fever and weakness of a specific bone. The arms and legs' long bones are most commonly involved in children, whereas the feet, spine, and hips are most commonly involved in adults. Typically the cause is a bacterial infection but it may occasionally be a fungal infection. This may occur by blood distribution or from surrounding tissue. Risks for developing osteomyelitis include diabetes, intravenous drug use, spleen removal prior to removal and area trauma. Usually diagnosis is assumed on the basis of symptoms. It is then followed up with blood checks, diagnostic imaging or bone biopsy.Treatment also requires antimicrobials, as well as surgery. Amputation can be required in those with a poor blood flow. Treatment results was usually successful because there was just a limited period to the illness. An academic journal's impact factor (IF) or journal impact factor (JIF) is a scientometric index reflecting the annual average number of citations received from articles published in a given journal in the last two years. It is often used as a proxy for a journal's relative importance within its field; journals with higher impact factors are often considered to be more important than those with lower ones.
