Marine-natural-products Top Journals

  Marine-natural-products have played a crucial role within the discovery of novel biologically active compounds. Thyrsiferol was originally isolated off the coast of latest Zealand from a marine alga of the genus Laurencia. Several analogues having similar structural features are identified and their biological properties investigated and identified. Marine natural products are important sources of biologically active agents, and various bioactive compounds are extracted from marine organisms like tunicates, sponges, soft corals, and molluscs. These biologically active compounds have been reported to modulate various biological activities and have anti-inflammatory, antifungal, and anticancer effects. Natural marine products are increasingly targeted for studies of structure–activity relationships (SARs), as templates for molecular modelling and also for his or her synthesis which of their analogues. Marine sponges belonging to the genus Insignia are an upscale source of terpenoids, ­several of which inhibit protein synthesis and affect inflammatory cytokine production. These ­terpenoids contain a tetronic acid moiety and show strong antibiotic activity, analgesic, and anti-­inflammatory properties. The top journals are peer reviewed scholarly journals.
