Pharmacoepidemiology is that the study of the use and effects of medicine in large numbers of people; it provides an estimate of the probability of beneficial effects of a drug during a population and therefore the probability of adverse effects. It are often called a bridge science spanning both clinical pharmacology and epidemiology. The journal also is a compendium of data inpharmacoepidemiology and drug safety which may be readily accessed by physicians, surgeons, medical scientists, public health professionals, medical students, clinicians, lab researchers, academicians, and industry for keeping themselves updated and also to formulate further research programs. The journal regularly publishes reports covering a good range of topics which include new challenges of over drug use, insufficient use and inappropriate use of drugs; Pharmacoepidemiology; improvements in biology techniques, and identification of the genetic determinants of drug effects. The aim of Pharmacoepidemiology and Drug Safety is to supply a world forum for the communication and evaluation of knowledge , methods and opinion within the discipline of pharmacoepidemiology. The Journal publishes peer-reviewed reports of original research, invited reviews and a spread of guest editorials and commentaries embracing scientific, medical, statistical, legal and economic aspects of pharmacoepidemiology and post-marketing surveillance of drug safety. Appropriate material in these categories can also be considered for publication as a quick Report.
