Basal Ganglia Hemorrhage

Basal ganglia haemorrhage can be a common form of intracerebral haemorrhage, and usually as a result of long-term uncontrolled hypertension. Stigmata of hypertensive encephalopathy are often present (see cerebral microhemorrhages). There sites of hypertensive haemorrhages are symptomatic and therefore the cerebellum. Lungar haemorrhages are also experienced but are often associated with amyloid angiopathy. The symptoms of stroke in the basal ganglia will resemble the symptoms of stabbing elsewhere in the brain. The stroke is that blood pressure flows into the brain area, either because the artery is blocked or because the vessel is pumping, causing blood to flow to nearby brain areas.
