A Review on Nutraceuticals for Management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

Chronic hyperglycemia is associated with long-term damage, dysfunction, and failure of various organs, especially the eyes, kidneys, nerves, heart, and blood vessels. Diabetes is the most prominent disease for which alternative medicine is necessary for treatment. Traditionally, many herbs have been recommended for diabetes and their hypoglycemic effects have been reported by many researchers. This review was performed to analyze and search for the best nutraceuticals which can contribute as a complementary therapy in type 2 diabetes mellitus.
