Neuropsychiatry involves the interface area of psychiatry and neurology. Neuropsychiatry is the integrated study of psychiatric and neurologic disorders. Neuropsychiatric diseases, such as schizophrenia, depression and autism, are a huge burden on society, impairing the health of those affected, as well as their ability to learn and to work.Anxiety and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), are among the most frequently diagnosed of all neuropsychiatric disorders.Benzodiazepines are the most widely prescribed drugs for the treatment of anxiety, but their clinical effectiveness is limited by significant side-effects, including sedation, memory impairment, and dependence. Peer review refers to the work done during the screening of submitted manuscripts and funding applications. This process encourages authors to meet the accepted standards of their discipline and reduces the dissemination of irrelevant findings, unwarranted claims, unacceptable interpretations, and personal views. Publications that have not undergone peer review are likely to be regarded with suspicion by academic scholars and professionals.
