HIV Genotype Testing

 HIV genotypic resistance may be a qualitative test and detects mutations related to drug resistance. It doesn't report the extent of resistance related to the drug. Phenotypic resistance testing (see Common Questions #2) may be a better indicator of the extent of HIV drug resistance. Genotypic obstruction testing inspects the hereditary structure (genotype) of a patient's HIV. A blood test is taken from the patient, and in this way the HIV is broke down for the nearness of explicit hereditary transformations that are known to make opposition explicit medications. This test is employed to guide selection of antiretroviral drugs and detect HIV-1 mutations within the polymerase (RT) and protease (Pr) genes.
