Family Care 

Family Care is a Medicaid long-term care program for frail elders, and adults with physical, developmental, or intellectual disabilities. People in the program receive long-term care services to help them live in their own home whenever possible. To understand Family Care, it helps to know what “long-term care” . Adult family-care homes (AFCHs) are defined as a family-type living arrangement in a private home providing room, board, and personal care for no more than five disabled adults or frail elderly persons. It's a day care operated out of an owner's home. Parents choose family child care for a variety of reasons. It's usually the least expensive form of child care. It offers a home-like setting, rather than a center one. Family health is a state in which the family is a resource for the day-to-day living and health of its members. A family provides its individual members with key resources for healthful living, including food, clothing, shelter, a sense of self-worth, and access to medical care. Even though you cannot change your genetic makeup, knowing your family history can help you reduce your risk of developing health problems. Family members share their genes, as well as their environment, lifestyles, and habits. ... Risks for diseases such as asthma, diabetes, cancer, and heart disease also run in families
