Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive behavioural therapy is therapies that can help you manage your problems by changing the way you think and behave. Its most commonly used to treat anxiety and depression, but can be useful for other mental and physical health problems. Doing cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) on your own can be effective. It's widely recognized that a few sessions of cognitive-behavioral therapy (or CBT) can be very helpful in treating the anxiety and depression that so many people experience. Many studies have shown that self-directed CBT can be very effective. When compared to psychoactive medications, review studies have found CBT alone to be as effective for treating less severe forms of depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), tics, substance abuse, eating disorders and borderline personality disorder. Some research suggests that CBT is most effective when combined with medication for treating mental disorders such as Major Depressive Disorder.
