Bioequivalence Open Access Articles

biological equivalence of two patented drug preparations. When two things are claimed to be bioequivalent, this means that they will be considered to be the same for all purposes. Property in which 2 drugs with identical active ingredients or 2 different medication dosage types of the same medication have the same bioavailability and show similar effects at the site of physiological activity. Open access to scientific literature means growing barriers to access to academic research. There are two parallel paths to open access: open access documents and self-archiving. Open Access articles are immediately and freely available on their website, a model mostly financed by fees paid by the author. The alternative for a researcher is self-archiving (i.e. to publish in a conventional journal where only readers have immediate access to it, but to make the article accessible on their personal and/or institutional websites, a practice that many scholarly journals allow. Open Access raises practical and policy questions for scholars, publishers, funders, and policy-makers alike, including what the return on investment is when paying an article processing fee to publish in an Open Access articles, or whether investments should be made in institutional repositories, and whether self-archiving should be made mandatory, as some funders envisage.
