Synthesis of Some 1, 3, 4-Oxadiazole Derivatives as Potential Biological Agents

A new series of INH containing 1, 3, 4-oxadiazole (3a-3j) were synthesized by POCl3 cyclization of INH with different substituted aromatic acids. IR, 1H NMR, and mass spectral data support the structures of newly synthesized compounds. All the newly synthesized compounds have been tested for their in vitro antibacterial and antifungal activity. Most of the compounds showed very good activity against all the organisms.
