Newcomplexes of 6-amino-4-hydroxy- 2-mercaptopyrimidine (Hahmp), [Zn(ahmp)2], [Zn(ahmp)(bpy)]Cl, [Zn(Hahmp)(H2O)2(SO4)], [Pd(bpy)(ahmp]Cl, [Pd(bpy)(Hahmp]Cl2 and trans- [UO2(ahmp)2] have been synthesized and characterized on the basis of elemental analyses, IR, 1H-NMR, UV-visible and ESI-mass spectroscopy, and thermal andmolar conductivitymeasurements. 6-Amino-4-hydroxy- 2-mercaptopyrimidine exhibits twpmodes of chelationinthesecomplexes as aneutralbidentateligand through the cyclic nitrogen (N-3) and thione sulfur at-oms, a mononegative bidentate ligand through the deprotonated cyclic nitrogen (N-1) and thione sulfur atom, or amononegative bidentate ligand through the cyclic nitrogen (N-3) and deprotonated hydroxy centers. The freeHahmp ligand and some complexes have been tested against the human serous ovarian cancer ascites,OV90 cell line.
