Relapsing-remitting Multiple Sclerosis Open Access Articles

During multiple sclerosis (MS), damage happens to the central nervous system, which involves the brain and spinal cord. MS causes the myelin to attack the immune system, which is the insulation that protects the nerves. It can damage the nerves themselves, too. When myelin or nerves get impaired, nerves can not pass their signals through properly. The damaging process forms scar tissue, called sclerosis, which gives multiple sclerosis to the disease its name. Multiple sclerosis occurs when an attack on the central nervous system by your body's immune system damages the myelin that protects nerve fibres. Experts believe that environmental factors in people whose genetics make them susceptible to MS trigger the illness.MS is not considered curable, although there are various forms of treatment available for reducing inflammation and slowing disease progression. Such medicinal products include: Beta-interferon, Glatiramer acetate, Monoclonal antibodies, Fingolimod, Dimethyl fumarate
