Public Health Scientific Journals

Scientific journals are mostly written by active scientists like students, researchers and professors rather than professional journalists. There are thousands of scientific journals in publication, and lots of more are published at various points within the past (see list of scientific journals). Most journals are highly specialized, although a number of the oldest journals like Nature publish articles and scientific papers across a good range of scientific fields. Scientific journals contain articles that are peer reviewed, in an effort to make sure that articles meet the journal's standards of quality, and scientific validity. Although scientific journals are superficially almost like professional magazines, they're actually quite different. Issues of a scientific journal are rarely read casually, together would read a magazine. The publication of the results of research is an important a part of the methodology . If they're describing experiments or calculations, they need to supply enough details that an independent researcher could repeat the experiment or calculation to verify the results. Each such journal article becomes a part of the permanent scientific record. Public health is that the science of protecting and improving the health of individuals and their communities. This work is achieved by promoting healthy lifestyles, researching disease and injury prevention, and detecting, preventing and responding to infectious diseases. ... Public health also works to limit health disparities. Monitor health status to spot and solve community health problems. Diagnose and investigate health problems and health hazards within the community. Inform, educate, and empower people about health issues. Mobilize community partnerships and action to spot and solve health problems. Examples of public health efforts include educating the public about healthier choices, promoting physical activity and fitness, preventing disease outbreaks and the spread of infectious diseases, ensuring safe food and water in communities, preparing for emergency, preventing injury, treating water with fluoride. Public health professionals plan to prevent problems from happening or recurring through implementing educational programs, recommending policies, administering services and conducting research—in contrast to clinical professionals like doctors and nurses, who focus primarily on treating individuals
