Primary Health Care Reports

Primary health care is a person's initial interaction with the health care system when they have a health issue. Primary health care is the provision of preventive services, including the diagnosis and treatment of a health disorder, and assistance in the management of long-term health care, including chronic conditions such as diabetes. Accessibility, public participation, health promotion, appropriate technology and intersectoral cooperation are the principles of primary health care. Accessibility ensures that all clients have equal access to the five forms of health care , regardless of geo-graphic location. The conference on Alma Ata discussed eight important aspects of primary health care. These are: health education, safe drinking water, nutrition, immunization, critical medication delivery, prescription supply and distribution, communicable disease control. The main approach to health care encompasses five forms of care: promotional; preventive; curative; rehabilitative; and compassionate / palliative in the provision of any form of treatment, under primary care.
