 Microalgae has been explored for their bioactive compounds with favourable applications surround antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal and anti-algal activities. Considering all the present status of widely used treatment therapies and their limitations to tackle their harmful effects, the application of bioactive compounds obtain from algae will show beneficial and more effective as compared with ancient treatment methods. Due to the emerging infectious diseases, viral infections (epidemic and pandemic) and raise in antibiotic resistant bacteria, there is a crucial need for development of alternative treatment therapies against infectious diseases. Present work comes up with a brief introduction about the algal bioactive compounds and their activity against various pathogens. Peer review refers to the work carried out during the screening of submitted manuscripts and funding applications. These processes motivate authors to meet the accepted standards of their discipline and reduce the dissemination of irrelevant findings, unwarranted claims, unacceptable interpretations, and personal views.
