Marine-enzyme

   A number of enzymes like amylase, Caseinase , lipase, gelatinase, and DNases are discovered from microbes isolated from extreme marine environments. Such enzymes are thermostable, tolerant to a varied range of pH and other harsh conditions required in industrial applications. Marine enzyme biotechnology offers novel biocatalysts with properties like high salt tolerance, hyper thermo stability, barophilicity, cold adaptivity, and ease in large-scale cultivation. This review deals with the research and development work done on the occurrence, biology , and bioprocessing of marine enzymes during the last decade. Exotic locations are accessed for the search of novel enzymes. Scientists have isolated proteases and carbo hydrases from deep sea hydrothermal vents.
