 Gabapentin is used with different medicines to save you and control seizures. It is also used to relieve nerve ache following shingles (a painful rash due to herpes zoster infection) in adults. Gabapentin is known as an anticonvulsant or antiepileptic drug. Gabapentin tablets, drugs, and oral answer are used along side other medicines to help manage sure types of seizures in human beings who have epilepsy. Gabapentin capsules, drugs, and oral solution are also used to alleviate the pain of postherpetic neuralgia (PHN; the burning, stabbing pain or aches which could ultimate for months or years after an attack of shingles). Gabapentin prolonged-launch tablets (Horizant) are used to deal with stressed legs syndrome (RLS; a circumstance that reasons discomfort within the legs and a sturdy urge to move the legs, especially at night and while sitting or mendacity down). Gabapentin is in a class of medicinal drugs called anticonvulsants.
